Description

While most Ninjava talks are given in English, on December 2nd we'll have Yuichiro Masui give a talk in Japanese about node.js, a server side framework for writing extremely high performance non-blocking event driven network servers in JavaScript.

For people new to node.js, we'd like to refer the following blurb on wikipedia [1]:"Node.js is an evented I/O framework for the V8 JavaScript engine. It is intended for writing scalable network programs such as web servers.Node.js is similar in purpose to Twisted for Python, Perl Object Environment for Perl, and EventMachine for Ruby. Unlike most JavaScript, it is not executed in a web browser, but it is rather related to server-side JavaScript."

About Yuichiro:
Yuichiro loves Ruby and Javascript, besides a wide range of other technologies like Appcelerator, titanium mobile, nodejs, amongst others. He's the author of two books on Ajax and PukiWiki. Over the past years he has developed a number of iPhone applications. His photo sharing service PhotoShare (http://bcphotoshare.com) is the most well known, boasting over 1 million users.
